"The Doctor Was In" @ Toad's Place on April 22, 2005
|
Thomas "Doc" Cavalier
On the First of January 2005, my friend, my son's Godfather, a man who touched our lives in more ways than I can find the words to express, left his body behind for other adventures.
Doc was my business manager for many years. He produced the recordings I made and helped me to be a professional artist. I am one of many Doc helped to reach their goals and then to set new ones.
Many great things have been said and written about him since his passing, and floods of wonderful memories have been played back, things recorded in the memories of all those who crossed his path through the years.
Thanks Doc. Thanks for so many things.

On April 22, 2005 Christine Ohlman hosted a Tribute to Doc at Toad's in New Haven
It was an amazing night! Artists from coast to coast arrived to make music together, honoring the man who had so much to do with how their careers were born, took shape or in some cases, how they turned out.

Below are two video clips of my old band Eclipse filmed at Toad's Place on April 22, 2005. The band broke up in 1974 and hadn't performed together since. With one, 1 1/2 hour rehearsal the afternoon before, we took the stage.
The lady pictured below to the left is May Pang, who was a very close personal associate of my musical hero, John Lennon. I was honored and thrilled to have her announce the band.

"Good Golly Miss Molly" performed by the group Pulse with only two Pulse members, Harvey Thurrott and Jeff Potter was backed by Eclipse. Harvey had played lead guitar in Eclipse while Joe Mel (founding member) was not in the group. This was the first time Joe and Harvey shared the stage together.
